Microsoft’s Surface Hardware Event Scheduled for October 5: Here is What to Expect?

Windows 11 is about to launch and with that, it’s time for Microsoft to launch new Surface hardware. The event is expected to drop in the lineup on Wednesday, September 22. The event will be live at 8:00 AM PT/11:00 AM. it is a virtual event so, one can join easily by just entering through the official link. Here is what all things you can expect from the event:

1. Surface Duo 2 (Second-gen)

Microsoft is aiming to create a foldable Android phone which is expected to launch with Windows 11 release at the Surface Event. The device’s images were leaked in the summer and Windows Central also verified the expected launches. Leaked images of the phones show a dual-screen folding device with 5-8-inch displays.

Looking at the pictures it is clear that the rear camera is going to be bulky with three lenses. The device is expected to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip with 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC.

2. Surface Book 4

Surface Book 4 is the flagship product of Microsoft which is expected to steal the limelight. The laptop will be redesigned totally having Microsoft dropping the detachable display in favor. It will work as both a laptop and a tab.

It is expected that the laptop will have a 14-inch display, two USB-C ports, and NVIDIA RTX graphics. The name of the laptop is still undecided. It could be possibly named as “Book 4”, “Laptop Pro” or “Laptop Studio”.


3. Surface Pro 8

Surface Pro 8 is the device that resembles the most with the first-generation Surface. Just like the original helped with Windows 8, the new Surface will help Windows 11. However, there isn’t much change in the design of the device. Images show a minor change like larger display and smaller bezels. It will be the first device with thunderbolt support. According to the reports, it is expected to have Intel’s 11th-generation chips.

4. Surface Pro X and Surface Go 3

The new Surface devices are expected to have a chip refresh and a higher refresh rate. Apart from this, rumors are being spread about the Surface Pro X which is expected to have a Wi-Fi-only version. While the budget-friendly Surface Go is expected to have the Intel Pentium Gold 6500 Y or higher version.

Other than the mainstream products, the event can also launch some of the accessories like the all-new Surface Pen, Surface Headphones 2, or Surface Earbuds.
